Water situation on LT

Pretty simple question. I am leaving for a thru-hike in two weeks and I would like to know what to expect on the water.

 Thank You

We’ve had a very wet season in Vermont, and every time I’ve been out, everything has been flowing.

It was a little dry between the Laura Woodward Shelter and Shooting Star so water up thoroughly before leaving those shelters. Water at the Shooting Star shelter is not now the trail that says water but down the trail front left of the shelter (not the Outhouse trail :tongue ) Sue

Plenty of water in VT this year. You should not have any problems. Of course, water up before heading up any mountains (stands to reason that most peaks do not have reliable springs on them). Most of the springs, brooks and shelter water supplies should be real good for your hike.

I think I rememember that Theron Dean, just south of App Gap, was a little low when I passed through, but it hadn’t rained in a couple of days at that point.

Are you the peanut who hiked the AT last year?

I have section hiked parts, but have not thru-hiked it yet…sorry. I completed the LT this summer.

That’s about what I’ve done - some AT sections and the Long Trail. I met a thru-hiker named Peanut who had a great attitude toward the trail as I was finishingup my LT hike last year, so I was curious. This summer I’ve done very small trips + the Northville Placid Trail.
