I am a sucker for waterfalls. I have identified about 20 waterfalls that the PCT passes by or near. Does anyone know if anyone has ever compiled a complete list of waterfalls on the PCT? If so, where.

I don’t have the data book, but in 07 we found an awesome waterfall on an alternate route in southern washington.
About 35 miles north of the Columbia river, you get to a hwy that goes to a small general store. Cross that hwy, then it’s like a mile or two on PCT to a smaller paved road that accesses a campground, the trail crosses another river on a bridge, then climbs a long waterless ridge. If you take a left at the road that accesses the campground and follow that, it connects to the PCT again in like 15 miles and has water the whole way. About at the halfway point, well after this turns to a dirt road, there is a pullout, and a short trail which accesses an awesome wooden deck built to overlook a really high, wide and beautiful waterfall, thats big enough for several to camp on. You connect back to the PCT at a waterless campground, that had trail magic, and gallons of water in 07 and 09, a couple of miles south of Sheep lake??? a “Gross disgusting” source in Yogis book.
This alternate may not be as aesthetically pleasing overall as others like the Eagle Creek alternate, but the waterfall does rock and was pretty impressive.
As a side topic, there is a “trail beside the trail” that is often missed by the PCT in search of more horse friendly terrain or a higher route. The factors determining PCT placement, often miss the little gems along the way that dayhikers get to see, such as this waterfall, or the trail that goes through the Eagle creek area. Not that PCT is any less scenic then the Eagle Creek alternate, both are beautiful in their own regard. Eagle Creek offers a “trail Beside the trail” experience that you would miss on the actual PCT.
