This just posted on the CTF Facebook Page:

"WATERTON CANYON CLOSED TUE-THUR, JUNE 26-28. No kidding, we just got notice. Please spread the word.

“Neither the parking lot at the canyon’s entrance nor the canyon will be accessible during this time. Waterton Canyon will reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday, June 29,” said Denver Water, the agency with jurisdiction.

Denver Water had closed Waterton Canyon for most of last year for a dredging project at Strontia Springs Reservoir. The area re-opened March 1 this year with a short-duration closure in April to remove the last of the dredging equipment. Here is the press release for the three-day closure:

Hi, so Im about to leave for the CT with my dog and had no problem on the AT with finding hiker hostels for a shower and bed but not so much for the CT. . .any info would be amazing. and yes, I know it’s much harder to find places that will allow a dog.
