I'll be sectioning this summer from Front Royal to Cloverdale.Do the waysides carry stuff like peanut butter, bread, oatmeal, dinner stuff etc. Can I do some resupplying along the way? How about the convenience store right at Rockfish Gap? Thanks for any info you can give me.

Waysides in Shenandoah
hey roadrunner,
if my memory serves me correctly, the waysides and campstores in shenandoah do have what I would call “moderate” supplies. comparable to what you might find in a gas station store. You could probably get enough to resupply on, although it will more than likely be a bit pricy, and you may not have the best selection.
Also, I remember, a couple of the stores closed by 5 pm, so I wouldn’t plan on stopping in at night to buy stuff.
i’m sure someone else will post with more info…but the short answer is that you can get the basics…along with a mountain blackberry milkshake!
The rockfish gap store. Not sure. I stayed at the Inn at Afton right there and there was a small gas station convenience store there as well, but it did not have a very big selection at all. It almost looked like it was on the verge of closing down. This was 2 years ago too…so I’m not sure now.
hope that all helps,
-lakewood

Thanks lakewood. If my memory is correct I met you at a shelter the night before Glenclif two summers ago. I think it was the trapper john LT.

That gas station is closed at Rockfish Gap now. There's nothing convenient to the trail at Afton. Folks are pretty nice to hikers around there. Might be easy to get a lift into the many stores in Waynesville.

I stayed at the Afton Inn last September. There are Pizza shops that will deliver to the Inn from Waynesboro if you don't want to get too far off the trail.
