We Screamed "BONO"

Hey All,
Grizzly Adam and I drove down to Moma’s last night searching for Bono and Rocket but to no avail. Drove up and down the road screaming “hiker” and “Bono, Rocket” but never heard a thing. We didn’t want to snoop around Moma’s too much as it looks like someone lives in a home(?) on the corner of the property. It was about 9pm when we got there and we searched for about a 1/2 hour, went into town and bought some munchies and cokes and left them for breakfast, looked around a bit more and left at 10pm. They must have hunkered down for bed or gone all the way back to the gap. We did find the perfect stealth campsite about 300 yards from Moma’s and screamed till we we blue in the face, but the stream was very, very loud and they could have been right next to us and not have heard us.

Got an e-mail from Rocket that they made it to a closed Momma’s so they were heading back up to the shelter. They will be at Momma’s on Wednesday morning to pick-up mail, etc. I was going to drive up today, but was not able to get away. The wife needed me to tend to our 3 yr. old and 11 mo. old children while she took our 5 yr. old daughter to her dentist appointment. You can get in touch with Rocket by the pocket e-mail he has. I am glad to hear that they are in a safe area after that snow storm. I would love to try to get up there to sh0w them some Tennessee Magic but unfortunetly I have been sick for the past 5 days. So no go for me. Does anyone know if the two of them plan on going to trail days?

We drove about halfway up the road toward Davenport Gap and figured that they wouldn’t walk all the way back to the shelter. Seems we were wrong. Well hopefully they’ll enjoy the junk food breakfast we left them if it isn’t consfiscated and tagged for resale at Moma’s before they get there. We left it sitting in the pay-phone well flanked by two big cokes!!! I’ll try to email Rocket this morning. Maybe I can try getting out there tonight again and bring them some travel food.

You did leave a note on the phone in crayon, right. Bono razzed me about my typing, he can’t read or speel. He might use a note as a fire starter. He still doesn’t tellme where he is when he sends me journals. One up this afternoon, later.

We did leave a note but not in crayon. Left some Snikers, twinkees, and donughts as well as the cokes. Hope they get them. I sent Rockets an email this morning. I wish we had gone to the shelter. Oh well!! Griz also left a note on a tree where the trail spills out onto 40. He’ll have lots of fire starter.

i spoke with bono today and am going to meet up with him either tonight or tomorrow near or on max patch. by my calculations, they should arrive in hot springs on friday. that’s all for now.

oh yeah, he and rocket did get the wonderful breakfast treats we left them.

Hey guys!

Bono’s in town! Sitting at a Buddy of Griz’s who has the house wired for internet.

Griz is the man! Best Hiker hostel on the trail so far, but only for the elite group of hardcore mountain.

Rocket Griz and me just laid waist to a Pizza Hut.
