did from GA to WV last year and thinking of doing more this year. wondering when is it a good time to start if i’m starting from harpers ferry and going north?

Not now! LOL We are on the ADT in WV right now. We had a couple of snow flakes yesterday morning and a sunny afternoon. Heavy frost on our tent this morning. We postholed in snow mud and ice.
But then you’ll be on the AT.

I live six miles South of Harper’s Ferry. If you don’t mind a little frost you should be good to go from April 1st on. Some night will be cold, but I doubt you will walk fast enough to catch the snow.

last year i started in GA march 12th i think. it snowed last year too some when i was hiking. made the hiking miserable in some respects but exhiliarating and great in others if you understand what i mean.
