Weight a minute

Guess who?

So...about how much does your tent weigh? I was thinking of going with the EMS Starlight cause i thought it was 3lbs 15oz, but it turns out that's the min. Max is 4lbs 11oz. What exactly is left out to make it the min weight? I also took a look at the MSR Microzoid...but i think it was too small for my liking.
While were at it...how much does your pack weigh? Just the empty pack itself. How much does your tent weight...and how much does your pack weigh? Thanks.

I have a NF Canyonlands, 3 lbs. and a Gregory Shasta. I carry 35 lbs. on the average.

The minimum weight is just the tent, without the poles, stakes, ground cloth, stuff sack, etc. In some cases they even leave off the rain fly. Our current tent is a Wanderlust Nomad 2-4-2, which weighs 2.5 lbs; our next will probably be a Six Moons Europa II which weighs about two pounds. It’s a big one for two people.

My pack is a ULA P2 which weighs 48 oz (with all the bells and whistles). My husband’s P2 is 40 oz.

tent- 2 lbs, pack- 2 lbs. Base load is 13 lbs. Usually, it’s 20 lbs the 1st day on the trail.

Hey Riddler, check out the MSR Zoid 1.5 It’s roomy enough to fit your backpack in if you want to, but not too obscenely big to make you feel bad about carrying it.

www.mtrogersoutfitters.com has it

Aren’t you waiting till kind of the last minute to be getting all your stuff? March 1st is only 20 days away…
