It is an interesting topic. I started on March 9th, 2005 and I was 178 lbs. When I got to Vermont I had lost 30 lbs. At that point I was eating in to my muscle and in Manchester I had to take 5 days to regain some weight. I was fine after that. I would encourage what a previous entry said get into the best condition you can before you start. It is like the saying Hike Your Hike. It is the same with the weight it effect everyone differently.
