CAn someone please tell me what the letters next to the towns and shelters mean on a list
for example
Fontana dam has R (E-5m, G, f-6m, L, f) (W-2m, PO, G< L, M, O, cl, f)
I know that W - water and PO - post office
but what dose the others mean
every thing I have that uses that system does not tell you

C = campsite, S = shelter, W = water, R = road access, G = groceries, L = lodging, M = meals (restaurant), O = outfitter, P = Post Office. The E-5m means it is east of the trial about 5 miles. Different guide books will use different letters but there is a legend that explains the meaning somewhere in your book. Also, maps have some symbols instead of letters. For example a “boot” will be an outfitter. A “dollar sign” means a bank or ATM.
