I don’t know whether I’ll be arriving from Atlanta or a nearer town, I think it’a best to get to the start point as early as possible, is it possible if somebody drops me of from Atlanta? Is there a shelter at start point where I can sleep and start early next morning?

you probably would enjoy sleeping until everyone else in the area has packed up and left. this way, you can spread your stuff around the shelter, just as if it was your house. you can also smoke in the shelter. in your sleeping bag, if you like. furthermore, it is much warmer at noon than at, say, 10 am. after eating, packing up, and general horseplay, you will only have time to cover several miles, so you will have to readjust your timeframe, possibly. but hey, where do you have to go in such a hurry?
