When do aspens' fall colors peak in the San Juans?

When do aspens usually reach peak fall colors in the San Juan Mountains? I know it will be in September, but I’ve heard it is earlier than in most CO mountain ranges due to the altitude.

Also, do you think last winter’s severe drought will have an effect on the timing of the peak?

4th week of September is usual. Last year it was early, because it was dry. But, you can’t go wrong the 3rd or 4th week of September.
