hey there thru-hiker! I was thinking of you and Skywalker a while back after your team(Clemson) stomped the guts out of my Vols at The Peach Bowl… Anyhow, I’m here in Knoxville all settled back into my routine of working too much but still refusing to be a full fledged “townie” ever again… Last week I hiked through the Smokies for 4 days and 3 nights. Three inches of ice and two inches of snow were like icing on the trail. Even took a zero day at Spence Field shelter. I smiled and yet almost cried when I saw my first white blaze again. I miss the trail too. Holla at me!

i knew of a guy who attempted a nobo thru in 2000. i think he got stuck just before or after the shenandoahs. he tried again in 2001, where i met him at the blueberry patch in ga, he having hitched 50 miles back to there from a bad snow storm. i saw him last in the smokies. and never heard word of him since.

he was from austin, tx. / he had a sister, “cloudburst” (?) who thru-ed a year or two or three prior to his attempt.

just wondering what’s up.

Dudes! Cakalaki and Spiderman! What’s up! I’m living in Philly and working for an insurance company on the 21st floor of a ski scraper … and damn the view sucks! all i can see are cars and buildings! I can’t help but think about the trail … fresh air and no ‘real world’ for miles! Oh well.

Hey Spiderman, you missed a great party at Trail Frogs pad in Maine after we finished. We all missed you at the end. Also i got a great pic of you in North Woodstock at the ghatto blowing out your birthday candles with smoke! Good times! Best of luck to you guys. And as for me i’m saving money for the PCT in 2005! Take care yo, and BE SAFE!:cheers

Hi Cakalaki! I didn’t get to hike with you but I got to visit with you July 14th in New Jersey. It was my birthday and I got to play trail angel. There were quite a few of you that stopped to visit and it made my day! Thanks! I found Dreds on a website, I think he is back in Austin now.

What’s up? Skittles here, moved back to GA after finishing 9/26. Been doing a bit of computer work, and making a slight effort at getting back into school. Also pondering going for a walk around Hot Springs in late Feb, anyone want to come? Does anyone know what happened to Stretch? Keep in touch.
