I was out dayhiking and leaving some food at Dead Indian Road today, a couple days north of Ashland. I talked with Bear Bait and Not a Moose, and got the general idea that even though there are plenty of hikers in Ashland and even still in California, that the bigger group is in the Crater Lake area. Of course there are several who are far north of that, but it sounds like the “pack” if there is one any more is still in Southern Oregon.

I ran into the big pack at White Pass on Hwy 12 in Washington State on the weekend of September 9th. So they still have time to be at that point if they are in Oregon…
