Just to be sure, are you referring to White House Landing, in the 100 Mile Wilderness?

White House Landing. The place is for sale. It was a great location for a rest.

If memory serves he wants close to a million bucks for the place, but doesn't own the land, which still belongs to the paper mill...so theoretically they could terminate the lease when it is up next, and you'd be out...a million bucks. It's been for sale I think for the last four years. I had a great time there, but it is way overpriced.

He is asking $550,000 for the place and is reporting gross receipts of $75,000 per year. Still way over priced with those numbers. Unfortunately someone with money and interest in running a hiker hostel will be the only potential buyer. I hate to say it but we would be lucky if the AMC which has been buying up camps in the area purchases it. The price to stay would sky rocket but at least it would be protected and available to hikers.
