I have just returned from my road trip from Fl-NY and stopped at the A.T. in VA. and Harpers Ferry W.V. I went to Dayhike @ McAfee’s Knob in VA. It’s pretty nice up there. It got me fired up about my likely '05 thruhike.
Anyways I wanted to put a post up to Compile a list of 2005 thru hike prospectives. So whos all doin it?

There are about 35 - 40 with the start of journals for '05 at www.trailjournals.com.

Select the ‘all’ option on the list of years, then scroll down to 2005 and click on it.

For those who plan to hike next year - or the year after - do you know about the Appalachian Long Distance Hikers Association annual Gathering? It is a weekend of multiple trail workshops and slideshows and a really good chance to meet and talk with other past, present and future long distance hikers. About 500 of us will get together Columbus Day weekend to talk and dream long distance hiking. Not just the AT, but the PCT, CDT, LT, JMT, CT, and trails all over the world. There will be a lot of AT workshops and it is a good opportunity to see what it is all about from folks who have already walked the walk. See www.aldha.org for details, or if you live out west www.aldha-west.org for the western equivalent (less AT talk, more PCT talk).
