Im still huffn and puff`n on the ECT this year and already dreaming about the desert, rockies, and breaching the Canadian border one last time. Just curious if who else is considering a NOBO of the CDT next year?

I am starting either Columbus or Crazy Cook about the middle of April. I am very psyched about it and hope I make the distance. Never done it but has been my dream for many years.

I’m planning a NOBO of the CDT starting mid-April. I’d be interested in hiking with or at least fairly close to someone. Anyone looking for a hiking partner?

I’ve heard there’s a higher directional, nonstop, thruhike success rate headed south on the CDT versus headed north. Plus I live in Aspen, CO which is fairly central on the CDT. I’d rather walk to my house and then leave having the southern section of the trail remaining versus the northern section. I can’t rightly say why this is, its just a gut feeling. Also, Raindog and Hitching Post (AT 2002) are getting married in Santa Fe in October and it seems easier to walk towards the wedding than away from it. Lastly, I don’t mind waiting for the snow to melt in Glacier because it’ll give me more planning time and I’ve got a 10 year college reunion in June that’s worth attending before I hike. Sadly, I doubt I’ll have as much opportunity to assemble an awesome Halloween costume next year. Sacrifices…

I’m seriously considering a SOBO starting around mid-June. Which trailhead and actual starting date are subject to change depending on snow levels.

I am looking to hike along the CDT. I thru-hiked the JMT this past 2010, but took 25 days for it. Summer 2009, I thru-hiked the Northville-Lake Placid trail with 2 resupplies (120 miles) in 12 days. I’d like to continue my long trail hiking as it is almost becoming addictive. Which way SOBO/NOBO or which section? Colorado looks very appealing, and either way for me. Exactly when? I am available July 1 - August 30 when I am off from teaching. I’d prefer to stay out for a little over 3 weeks or more or less depending on the circumstances. I’d like to go with 1 or 2 other people for reasons of safety. :nerd Looking for partner(s). . . .
