I really like my GoLite Ether Windshirt. It is a little more expensive but it only ways three ounces and it packs down really small. The great thing about having awhile until your hike is that you can look for sales and for great deals. You just want to make sure that you don’t just buy something you don’t really need just because it is a great deal. Also, with having awhile until your hike you can research each piece of gear and make good choices.
