Does anyone know of any other women who have done a solo thruhike besides Barbara Zinn? Thanks!

There are too many solo females to count. I find that solo hiking is really the best. Even if you are hiking in a zone with other hikers, it is always nice to do it YOUR way with no discussion, no vote. I occasionally take on partners but find solo hiking is my favorite way to go. Thanks for the responses, but to clarify what I was asking, I wanted to know if anyone knew of specifically Arizona Trail female solo thru hikers (other than Barbara Zinn). I realize there are many women that have done other trails solo, but I’m wondering about the Arizona Trail. Thanks!

I have no idea of any women who have hiked the AZ trail solo, but if you are thinking of doing it, I say Go For It! And then, shoot me an email and tell me how it is Happy Trails!

This year “Twisted Sister” Elizabeth Morton hiked solo from mid April into May from the Mexican border to Sunflower. The heat, lack of water, and overgrown trail were factors that determined her leaving the trail. I started two days before her and we discussed the Trail briefly at Manning Camp. I also exited at Sunflower.
