Having successfully thru-hike both the AT and PCT before, I thought it would be fun and challenging to do a Yo-Yo thru-hike of the AT this year. I’m curious how often and by how many people this 4370-mile trek is attempted each year. Are there any lists of those hikers who were successful?

Dude - YO-YO the CDT. It’ll be MORE of a challenge, and you’ll only be the 3rd person in history to do it.
The AT has been yo-yo’d many times. In the 2008, I met two people who actually ended up doing it. It’s a huge accomplishment - but it’s becoming more common by the Ultra-Long Distance Hikers.
Low Impact
Thanks for the challenge Low Impact, but I’m 64 years old and I need to pace myself. I plan to try a SOBO thru-hike of the CDT in 10’, maybe after that I’ll consider trying another Yo-Yo. (I sure hope my wife doesn’t read this!)
