Does anyone have a way they can send me an email copy of pages 5-20 of Yogi’s CDT town guide? I sent a mail drop and some of the stuff in the box is missing (or misplaced). Thanks.

You really dont need any of Yogis info if you have access to a computer. Chamber of Commerce of the cities you need are far more up dated and accurate than what Yogi provides. We’ve found much of her data out dated and many businesses are closed, especially in smaller more crucial towns.

The difference you’re referring to is between printed matter & current research. With any time sensitive printed matter, no matter how up to date when physically printed, it immediately starts to go ‘stale’. This is especially true, as you point out, with small business in small towns. Shops come and go.
I’m picking nits with terminology here, but it’s not that Yogis information ‘isn’t reliable’ - I have no doubt that’s it is up to date and correct when printed (as I found with her PCT guide - it was very thorough and the ‘stable’ information, like zip codes, etc. was factually correct). It’s just that things (like specific businesses) change between printing and when you go to use it.
One should use any printed matter as a GUIDE as to what one MIGHT find. You have to understand the limitations of the tool.

send all the changed info you can to yogi so it can stay updated. i sent about 15 pages of typed changes to guidebook writer Schaeffer about the PCT after my '93 thru.
yes, you can get some info if you call all the visitor’s bureaus; but if you can save a few hours , it’s worth the purchase price of a philosopher’s guide (ie. yogi data).

Chambers of Commerce bastians of up-to-date information on local services… hardy har har. Would it that that were really the case even half the time.
Go with Yogi’s guide. “Trust but verify.”
