It’s a go! I just got a new job that will allow me to save enough money to hike the PCT next year!!! It’s a boring desk job, but the PCT carrot in front of me will make it all worthwhile. Just wanted to share. Any others for 06 out there? I’m so excited!

I set my PCT goal for last year and then again for this year. I hope maybe next year!! Good luck She-ra. As fast as you hike you should be done in a month or so. haha

Virginian, it would be great to see you out there. Bloody Cactus, just sell it as your honeymoon trip! 447 days, that seems like nothing! :girl

I’ll be there, been savin already, wiil have a huge stash by then, then its trails for two years. Hey tarbubble, I plan on doing parts of the pct with my wife and child. You should email me, I wanted to ask you some logistical questions concerning putting in the miles with the whole fam. I think thats great, a challenge but real family adventures are hard to come by.

Can I come too? Well, heck, I’m goin’ anyway. I also have one of those “boring desk jobs,” but, as much as I dislike it and my boss (blehk, ptooey!), it’ll all feel worth it the day I start walking north. Hope to see you out there, Tarbubble. And hi yogi! I enjoyed following along with your CDT journey. I don’t know the rest of you, but I hope to meet you out there.

. . . I may be on the PCT in 2006, too. If my feet are better next year, I’ll be on the trail!

Hey – to all you prospective PCT Hikers – why don’t you attend the ADZPCTKO in April? Details are here: http://siechert.org/adz/

You’ll meet lots of former/current/future PCT hikers, get a feel for the trail (it’s totally different from the AT), and you’ll have fun!

I’m counting on being there as well. The JMT last year only wetted my appetite for more! I plan on also being at ADZPCTKO this year.

Not sure how old your little one is, but my husband I hiked the JMT with our one year old this past summer and loved it. We didn’t put in PCT miles – 15 miles per day was our average . . . no 30s for us:) – but had a great time. Feel free to e-mail us with any questions. Tarbubble is also a great resource, and her little one is a bit older. Also, you might want to check out the yahoo group, backpackingwithchildren.

The PCT is on my 2006 agenda. Yogi, what’s wrong with your feet? I am still having feet troubles from my 2004 AT thru-hike.

I’m planning on being there in '06. As much as my exsistence right now is mundane,I think it will be worth it to feel the peace of the trail once again.
